0369 Sleep Education for the Nurse Practitioner: Nurse Practitioner Student Focus Group Findings

Abstract Introduction Primary care nurse practitioners (NPs) receive little to no sleep education in graduate programs despite being first-line providers for patients presenting with sleep-related symptoms. Sleep curriculum has been consistently identified as a gap nursing and confirmed recent survey studies of nurses NPs. Methods Qualitative descriptive study explore NP students’ reactions an asynchronous, case-based e-learning program. Data were collected part larger pre-/post-study assessing the Six asynchronous online modules offered cohort primary students single academic institution’s master’s degree At end course, invited participate one-hour, online, focus group sessions. Directed content analysis, guided by Kirkpatrick training evaluation model, was used analyze qualitative data understand experience program elicit their perspectives about education.
